Mad About Murad Product Review

(images taken by Mark McGrory)

For a while I have been feeling down due to my skin changing again. My chin ( hormonal area) has been breaking out for a good few months now. I can handle one or two pimples popping up now and then but when it comes to 2 or 3 huge, pussy spots with their own pulse & red and purple scars from previous spots that's when it becomes more annoying. It's soo hard not to squeeze them all for some relief. I was fighting that urge (most of the time sometimes I would catch the head while washing my face) but even when I was at my most careful they would still scar over or reduce in size but leave small red bumps. I had tried all sorts of spot creams and treatments and I know the more you stress the more spots will appear but it wasn't until I was clearing out my toiletries that I found Murad hiding away.

At the beginning of this year I was looking for a new skin care range for the salon where I work when I came across 'Murad'. I had never heard of them and organised to meet up with a rep who kindly gave me a few samples to try one of which a full size bottle of 'Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser'. This facial cleanser is a 2in1, it's dual action foam cleanses and tones while washing away dirt, oils and impurities mad tightens your pores without over-drying.
As I was looking at a couple of brands for the salon I only used this face wash a couple of times and then we decided to look at other areas of the salon and we didn't renew our skin care range.
I decided to give Murad another go and began using it again the week before the wedding. The results showed almost immediately. The next day my spots had calmed down and my skin tone was much more even. Don't get me wrong I still have the little spot scars but since using Murad I haven't had another spot and usually I have 2 at a time and then as they start to die down another 2 appear and the previous 2 scar it's just a constant fight against them which I am losing. Hopefully if I stick at using this cleanser it will help my skin clear up but it's not just what you use on the outside that affects your skin its what's going on inside as well thats why eating healthy and taking Vitamins is so important.

The 'Energizing  Pomegranate Cleanser' totally refreshes and as the label says without drying your skin. It is so easy to use and without any mess as it's a pump foam which your skin soaks it up fairly quickly and then just rinse using hot water. I have already recommended it to a few friends and I definitely will be purchasing this again once my freebie is finished.

Have you ever used Murad? Whats your favourite range?
What spot care treatments do you use?

Product Review Double Lash update.

Ok so a few posts ago I said that I had started using "Double Lash Serum" as I had a horrible horrible habit of picking my eyelashes, I know it sounds disgusting and I hated myself when I did it and I was left with 'baldy eyes'.

So I've been using this serum for a few weeks now and I don't know if it the serum or my mascara (which btw isn't a fancy expensive one, NYC curl lash from Superdrug at £4.99?  This mascara is great but you need to be careful how much you apply as it can cause lashes to clump but it definitely makes lashes look longer and thicker.) but my lashes are almost touching my brows!  They are now soo long and I'm noticing that they aren't falling out as often and are barely ever sore anymore. Loosing the pain factor and my lashes becoming stronger has to be down to the serum. People are actually making comments about my own natural lashes, 'are you wearing natural strip lashes, your lashes are so long now they are almost touching your eyebrows'. It's great I'm loving it and when I turn my head to one side you can now see my lashes peaking over my nose (which lets face it isn't the smallest of noses) so I'm so glad I found this serum and stuck to applying it every night before bed.

sorry for the lack of make up trying to give my skin a rest

I will continue using 'Double Lash' until I've finished it and I will let you know my final results and thoughts.

Do you have a bad habit like this?
How did you manage to stop?

Product Review- Double-Lash

Hello:)

So I went shopping...again,
I was only meant to be in town long enough to return a few bags full of clothes that I had bought on impulse the week before and ended up spending more...what am I like.

Anyhoo I popped into Boots for a change (I'm usually a Superdrug kinda girl) and while I was having a peak at the false lashes and bits and bobs like that I noticed 'Double-Lash, for longer, denser, stronger lashes'. This is something I have been meaning to try out for a long time as I have lost ALOT of my natural lashes.

...As I work in a salon its very easy for me to get beauty treatments done or do them myself, if I have the time, and a few years ago maybe 2 years ago I was addicted to Party Lashes. Party lashes are individual little clusters of fake lashes that can be added to the corners of your own lashes or all along your lash line to create longer, fuller lashes. So I would get a fresh set of these maybe every week or two until I developed a very very bad habit of picking them out (I cannot stress enough when I say do not pick fake or natural lashes out ) So after near enough a year of me gluing the lashes in and pulling them out (after about 5days when they weren't ready to come out), my own natural lashes then started to fall out more often than they should. They became sore at the roots and I would rub and pull at them slightly to relieve pressure but they just fell out to the point where I had very weak and very little lashes especially in the corners.
I never went to the doctors as I knew it was my own fault from picking at the false ones but I think I ended up with blocked follicles. Banning myself from party lashes I then tried strips and stopped wearing mascara to see if this would ease off the pain in the roots of my lashes and it did for a while until eventually I had to stop putting anything on my lashes for a few months.

As a result of me doing this to myself ( may I add you are not reading some crazy girls blog )  my lashes have never been the same, they are very short, thin and sparse the exact opposite to what I would like them to be... So to the point I bought the Double Lash serum and I have now used it over 3 nights. It's so easy to use and causing no irritation, just apply like a mascara from root to tip on clean lashes at night and leave to work as you sleep. I can't say I've seen any sort of change...yet but I am definitely going to keep using it and I shall let you know how I get on.

What do you think? Have you tried any lash serums, have they worked? let me know.

Product Review- Pearl Drops Toothpaste

Hey there:)

Ok so this might seem a little random doing a post on toothpaste :S but I was so surprised at the result, Pearl Drop Daily Pro White Toothpaste...amazing I love this product I take it everywhere I stay.

Ever brush your teeth and feel as if you want to brush again 5mins later or run your tongue around your front teeth and still don't feel 100% clean? I deffinately think this is something to try.
I bought this toothpaste from 'Badycare' but I wasn't looking specifically for toothpaste it just happened to catch my eye and I thought 'I'm going to try that see it it actually works' as I was thinking of trying a teeth whitening home kit but thought I would give this a go 1st. I'm so glad I did.
After using it for the 1st time I noticed a huge difference, my teeth felt so smooth and clean and looked  much whiter (obviously not bleached white but whiter) and this feeling lasted all day, I kept finding myself running my tongue over my teeth.  A few people even commented on them looking whiter which is always a good thing and made it clear that it was working even after 2 brushes.  It is gentle enough that you can use it in place of your regular toothpaste and use it twice a day which is a great thing so you don't have to remember to use 2 different toothpaste :)

Still using this and I would definitely recommend this if your looking for that white clean smile without bleaching because if not done properly it can damage your teeth.

I'm sure it was only £3.99 but either way still cheap as chips and keeps your mouth looking and feeling great:)

Thanks for reading hope you enjoyed. I appreciate all comments and read everyone one so check back to read the reply. If you have your own blog feel free to leave you link thanks again <3

Product Review - Lush Lip Scrub

Hi :)

As I have a small lipstick fetish at the moment :O
I have been wanting to keep my lips smooth and soft to allow my lipsticks to last longer and look their best.

So as I had said in one of my previous posts I am using the fabulous lip butter from Nivea  which is great for softening your lips and keeping them soft but I still felt that I had slightly chapped lips (eww I know)  so I thought I would try a lip scrub and the most popular one seems to be the 'LUSH' Lip Scrub. Mark and me took a trip to Braehead shopping centre on Friday and while I was there I thought I'd pop into Lush and get a lip scrub. (Mark was acting like a 2 year old touching everything and making a mess...boys will be boys even when they are 23 nearly 24 years old). Hiding up the back were the lip scrubs and there was 3 to choose from, Mint Julips, Popcorn and Bubblegum. It took me a while to decide on bubblegum, I really liked the colour (bright pink), retailing at £5.25.

It is really simple to use just apply a little to your lips and rub in circular motion with your fingertip all over your lips (this clears any dry dry flaking skin) continue doing so until most of the crystal have gone, then you are suppose to lick off the rest. After using it a few times I could definitely feel the difference in lips, no peeling and in general much better condition great for using before you apply a lipstick.

'Keeps lips in tip top condition, for kissing, pouting, talking or anything else you wish to do with them'.

I should have bought it during the winter months but now I'm prepared for next time...well Scotland's always got bad weather I suppose. The only thing I would say is now I wish  I maybe got one of the other flavours as sometimes the bubblegum scrub can be a little too sweet and I don't lick off the remaining crystals as it is soo sweet so I just wipe off what is left but still works a treat. Always remember with this product a little goes a LONG way.

Have you tried Lush Lip Scrub and if so what flavour let me know what you think.
